Couples Costume Ideas: Just Have Fun
It’s difficult deciding on one Halloween costume, but having to decide on two can make the Halloween holiday seem like too much trouble. What do you do when you find yourself in a couple that wants to have coordinating costumes? The first thing is to have a discussion regarding what the other person will or will not wear in public. While you may have dreams of dressing like Wilma Flintstone, your partner may despise Fred. He or she may love SpongeBob SquarePants, but do you really want to go dressed as Squidward? Have a candid discussion about your dress up expectation early, in order to have a more enjoyable holiday.
Once you have decided on a theme, make sure that both people will be comfortable in their respective outfit. Nothing kills a party mood like being stuck in the corner because your costume is impossible to move in, or realizing your nylon body stocking is see through only after getting to the party.
Finally, compromise. It’s okay to go without synchronized costumes, so if you wanted to dress up as a German barmaid and your partner wants to be Al Capone, go with it. It’s Halloween; it’s supposed to be fun, not a hassle.
