Easy Vampire Costume Ideas – Dracula
Halloween is quickly approaching, which means it is time to get your costume together. For those of you who like the idea of being Dracula, but do not want to buy a readymade costume or put in too much effort, then your answer is here. The following guide will help you become the best Dracula you can be.
Cape
For Dracula, the cape is very important. Most online stores will carry ready-made Dracula capes if you are interested in buying this one item and creating the rest of the costume on your own. If you cannot find a cape, then you can easily make one. All that is needed is some black fabric, preferably nylon or something lightweight that has some “swing” to it. Cut out a large square, then gather it around the neck and tie in a loose knot. You have your Dracula cape!
Teeth
Buy some fake fangs online. These can easily be inserted in the mouth like a mouth guard and they look quite realistic. For those who want even more realism there are fangs that are teeth caps that glue on for a short period of time.
Makeup
Paint your face with some white face paint. Do not cover your face entirely; just highlight your face with the white paint. Then, accent the white with a dark grey or black paint. Smudge the edges of your face, the lines, and the area below your cheekbones. This will accent your face and emphasize the white paint, too. Paint your lips bright red and your Dracula makeup is complete!
Hair
Gel your hair back and paint it black if your hair is a different color. Shorter hair is recommended, but the hair should be gelled and style backwards to give the most realistic impression.
Clothes
Black dress pants, a white dress shirt, and a white vest are recommended for your Dracula attire. However, you could wear all black with red accents if you choose. It is truly up to your own interpretation, but these are the generally accepted colors for a Dracula costume. Black dress shoes are recommended, too.
Follow this guide and you will have no problem at all creating a Dracula costume that is convincing and that makes you look really good!
